Kate Mulvihill, M.Ed., has a background in international education, student travel, and intercultural exchange. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature and her Master of Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Through her coursework, she examined fundamental problems and questions in education in the U.S. and abroad. Her primary focus was on integrating global themes into the higher education curriculum across disciplines and reducing barriers to study abroad for underrepresented populations.

After completing her master’s degree, Kate spent a year teaching English at a high school in Perpignan, France. She then spent a decade working in the field of international education for teens and young adults in a variety of roles. Of the work she has done, the most rewarding has been supporting students during the emotional rollercoaster that is study abroad, engaging them in meaningful dialogue about their new environments.

In addition to her work at Small Brooklyn, Kate is a freelance podcast producer and editor. Learn more about her work here: https://www.findkate.online/. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, baking, exploring New York City, and continuing her language studies in French and Spanish.

Kate is excited to join Small Brooklyn and work with a team in the borough she has called home since 2017.
